As part of the program, every year the City conducts one-on-one meetings with local business owners and managers to get their input and opinions on a variety of topics. The results of the meetings are published in a report which is used to help the City and business service providers design and deliver programs that address the immediate needs of the business community by:
- Connecting business to appropriate resources, information, and opportunities
- Improving municipal services and processes
- Advocating for the interests of local businesses at the provincial and federal levels
- Developing targeted projects and strategies in partnership with key stakeholders
One of the missions of the City of Prince George’s Economic Development Division is to foster a positive business climate that facilitates business growth. The City recognizes the integral role of local businesses in creating and nurturing a vibrant community and that existing local businesses provide 80 percent of new jobs and investment.
